I was sort of planning on doing the web-page thing like that, on the side, like, if I get the IT-support thingie. Assuming they are ok with me doing work at home and so forth after five.
The other developer thing will be a full time placement as a consultant, tho' the pay will be a bit shit, and I won't really get any training, they'll just toss me at it, and see what happens, is my impression.
I may do well at it, but I can't be sure until I know what I'm supposed to do, they're.
Therefore the preferred option is the support/web-development combo.
But that's assuming the meeting on wednesday goes well.
If not, I'm going for the consultant-thing, if they want me.
I'm hoping someone makes up they're mind fast, or I'll have to dip into my hidden reserves or something, or deal with the hags on the 28th.
It seems as if I can be pretty sure of getting to work on the web page(s), but I dunno how much I'll make, or what he'll pay me, and how (he might intend to pay me in cash, dodging taxes, I dunno).
I'll be working with another guy as well, and it sounds as if I'll be doing more of the planning and thinking, making the decisions as it is, while the other bloke writes more of the code.

It's better to have too many options than no options at all.
Unless you're a woman, like.

Hoi, barbie, couldn't you lieak rip-the-jacker the lounge at FST or something? Between people wot I've already have on ignore (that zaa-mong, Jiggles, tralala etc.) and people wot are prolly all right but who bore me enough so I don't really read they're posts (benchez, kallieb, allen (to some extent) etc.), and Herbert, who I still can't put on ignore. I end up scrolling past more posts than I read That's enough to put a man off, that is.

Semi-hypothetical question for you lot, like.
What would look better on a CV?
a.) I have taught myself how to program and am now a competent programmer.
b.) I have spent the last three years at a mediocre University, studying a mediocre course, and am now a competent programmer.
I'm considering omitting the fact I've gone to a bullshit University from my CV, as well as telling my potential employer that I'm a keen surfer, play guitar, enjoy reading and socialising.
Doesn't being self taught make you look über-orsum?

Not to a potential employer, no.
It makes you look like a loner, and the self-taught bit is meaningless, because it makes it sound like you can't/won't adhere to any recognised standards.
What university are we talking about anyway?
By the way, your hobbies make you sound too emo, don't put "reading" for God's sake! If you say you play guitar make out you're in a band or something, or something where you're doing something as part of a group of people.

Err, being self-taught is good, although having gone to school gives you evidence know it.
You could always try the, "I'm self-taught, really, I just went to uni and took the courses so I'd have the papers proving I'm good at it"-angle. I know a couple of blokes who actually did that. Those are prolly among the best programmers I've ever met at uni.
If its like it is here, they like you to have a passion for programming, so putting it in as something you like to do in your spare time, along with the socialising, and the reading is prolly a good thing as well.
Me, I'm all vague about it, like. I have done some coding for fun, and I have enjoyed the other bits, but I'm not saing exactly when. If I did some coding every day I'd be pretty sick of it, given how I tend to forget the time when I do stuff like it, thus end up doing it for hours and hours, even when I intend to do something simple.
And who the pants can afford to have a rich social life, or has time to read a prooper book when you're doing all you can think of to get a job, like?
So, I'd prolly not omit that I'd gone to uni, but I'd not rule out saying I taught myself as well.

I actually used to have "origami" as one of my hobbies. Whenever I was interviewed they always used to ask me about it, obviously it was not something they saw every day  I never ever had to do a demonstration though, thankfully!

I've still got the web-developer gig, btw, just called and checked where the heck the code I'm supposed to be improving is. It's the per-site thing, and I dunno if it'll pay very much, but if nothing else it'll be a good experience. Asked to see the guy tomorrow in person, just to see how he is. Also gonna talk to the it-support people where the pay is orsum (relatively speaking, it pays more than anything else I've been called up on lately, but I could prolly make maybe £100 more as an entry salary here, if I got a job doing exactly what I'm trained for, and some months I made lots more at the factory, but that was to do with working holidays, weekends, nights, and working in a hazardous environment.). =-=- I apologised to a noob for harshness yesterday I'm going soft, like. In my defense, he was polite about me harshing on him, and I figured that was a rare thing.

No, not really.
Although I just did a quick search on IRC, someone's got at least 6 issues of it, but I can't really tell because I've never actually figured out how to route my firewall for IRC, like :dabs:
If you want to look yourself, the server's: irc.rizon.org and the channel is : #comic-scans
Clive Barker is a mental by the way. Not like a really clever, creative mental, just plain mental.

I got them off a dodgy torrent, them and every other comic what has to do with hellraiser, and a heap of other barker-stuff, but thanks for making the effort, like.
I've never noticed him being a mental, no more than giger and other horror-oriented artist types, anyways, but he's creepy as fuck, with that weird voice wot he's got.
