I spent most of the evening trying to set up a router access point thingie as a wireless bridge for my brother's Xbox 360. Couldn't get it to work, and I'm fairly sure it isn't even possible. Now I'm just a bit pissed off with my brother because he asked for the wireless thingie for his birthday, I suggested the official Microsoft wireless adapter thingie would be much less hassle and it looks nicer, because it just clips on to the back of the console. But he couldn't get over the fact that it costs nearly three times more than this plain old router thingie that just plain doesn't work. Cockend.
Actually I'm more annoyed with Microsoft for making they're stupid crappy adapter so over priced. My advice for anyone still reading, don't get an Xbox 360, get a Wii, or a Playstation 3. They don't charge extra for a bloody wireless connection. They don't even charge extra to play games online. Stupid fucking Microsoft. Stupid fucking Christmas/Birthday.

I connected number 1 son's XBox to his laptop and use that to access the router, thence the interwebs and it works a treat.
Number 3 is getting a PSIII from Satan Clause and that has all the wireless and bluetooths inside the box.

Adopt me.
I tried to do the laptop bridging thing, but I couldn't work it out. Did you use a guide on the webs, or did you use your ginormous noggin brains?

If it doesn't work it may be because you are using a normal ethernet cable rather than a crossover cable.
I have no idea what that means.

I have both types of cable, but I've never bothered to work out which witch is which, I'll just try both.
Now it turns out we'll probably move the Xbox upstairs, next to the router, so we could just connect it up with a cable anyway.

Practicality isn't the point tho', you need to set up the wireless anyway because you've given yourself the challenge. Once you've done that you can then use the cable method, which is better.
Or am I just a mental

You're a mental.
My brother now says we'll probably use the one free month of Xblox Live Gold membership for a couple of days, get bored of the teenagers, download the patch that lets you play DivX, then never use the internet on it again.
Stupid unconditional love.

My brother only ever uses x-box live for patches and demos.
