Sorry if i'm in the wrong forum but can someomne tell me how i can get rid of an icon?
The problem is that back along i downloaded a antivirus called trend micro,it worked fine but i decided to take it out.I manage to uninstall the programe but it has left it's icon in the place of my external hdd icon, it is also in add and remove but every time i try to uninstall it i get a message saying error and it will not allow me to remove it.

So at the moment i've got avg free but i want to install kaspersky anti-virus but kaspersky wont allow me to install it's programe as it clashes with trend micro and ask me to uninstall that first before installing kaspersky.

Zed, I think you're going a bit over the top trying to get rid of an icon that I assume isn't even their if the external hdd isn't plugged in.

If the external hdd is plugged in, their will be an icon for it. I don't believe that their is any way to have it simply not show.

Can you give us a screenshot of this icon, and where it is, please?
